3:27 Be six to 7 months which in my case it was 6 to 7 months mhm then I got a opportunity at in tipco which was a product company and based in Ireland and then I joined that company and started my job somewhere around May 2021 and then I moved around in 2023 January there were many reasons to move but it was the reasons were more personal reasons than you know professional reasons or like why I wanted to move like you know because of the mass layoff and stuff you know my company was was not ready you know to because they were in making the job redundant they were they said that you know you can either work here or maybe you should leave and look for another job either we are offering you a job in India with a good pay and I thought yeah they are providing good pay and I calculated the purchasing power index and all which is really good like thought like I'm making this much in Ireland I'm all making this much in India which is worth enough and I was single at that point of time I thought

4:27 That like I and that time I was on on stamp one and getting a job sponsored job again on stamp one is was very difficult it's not easy and you know that's how I decided that maybe I should move back to India I'm getting a good pay anyway with from the same company that I'm working for and that worked out for me and then when I came back I came to Pune basically did two or three months of job with that company and then I switched to another a us- based company and I'm working currently as a Us remote employee basically so I'm working remotely from from India but the whole team is in the US and all the things so I'm happy working in India you know the salary is good everything is good life is good life is easy so it's it's like yeah it's working out for me I'm not regreting it yeah no thanks for sharing that so just to quickly summarize so went for the Masters and you were working and it was a situation where you have to decide to search for another opportunity in Ireland or take the option of

5:45 That so I I think maybe you kind of touched a little bit but I just wanted to expand this I think this is very common question or maybe thing that people think especially people who are thinking about going abroad for higher studies maybe from your journey maybe you can kind of help and provide some insights people who are in that situation about how you know the life there as a student and then options to get the job opportunities and so on maybe you can paint a picture a little bit there and then I think we can kind of switch into your journey after moving back to India yeah see if you're an experienced person especially looking for a job in it or you want to do a masters in in any of the countries around the world doesn't matter it's Ireland USA or Canada or Australia I think as experienced person in it you have that kind of background that you are bringing with you so like after finishing the Masters is very easy to get a job I'll not say like it's a like a cake walk but

6:46 It's very easy at least you have that experience you have given lots of interviews back in India to get that job so you have that interview experience you bring a lot of stuff and experience with you so you know when you give inter views in your new country you just need to refine your CVS you just need to work on your CV your skills and then you get lot of much more lot of interviews as compared to a fresher so you know when someone who is a experien if they are deciding to move abroad for any reason maybe you know if they think that their working style is not good in India or they think that they can get a lot of good pay in outside India which makes sense then yeah definitely they should try because outside exposure is is always is important like you know it's it's really good it adds a lot of experience with you and then when you move back to India it really helps but there is a catch here you know when suppose experienced person who is making around 30 40 lakhs in India making a move back aboad just because you want to go abroad and live

7:47 Makes sense and I think that is only the reason people should go if they looking to you know get maybe one year in USA or maybe 60 70 lakhs in Ireland financially things will not change much like things that we can afford in India with that kind of salary I would say that you can afford maybe less there in that in even in like twice or thce kind of salary so if just for salary wise somebody's looking for that I can earn a lot maybe you can save more when you're are going abroad because if you're single if you're married or if you have children then again it's very difficult if you're single and you want to go abroad just because you want to get better salaries or more salaries I think that doesn't make much sense if you're earning that 30 40 lakhs in India if you're earning less like 10 12 5 somewhere around that then it's fine even as a experience experienced person but things change a lot when you are a fresher you know because I think especially in it it's like if you go study and do your Masters in especially in it in computer

8:48 Science on any kind of related Tech you know what do you call Masters then obviously then you know you can you can get a job but it's not a easy one as compared to experience I personally thought I personally experience that you know the interviews are very less you get lot of less opportunities the waiting time is a lot because there are lots of experienced and non-experienced people who are hunting same kind of jobs so it's hard for a fresher without any experience to get a job abroad but it's not impossible like I I did it obviously it took me six to seven months but yeah definitely if you are confident enough you have good skills you are confident about like you can crack the interviews that's fine and in Te doesn't matter you are in India or you are in Ireland or anywhere else the process is is more or less the same it's that doesn't change as much only I find that in India getting into fang man kind of company is little difficult because there are lots of competition there are lots of people so selection of your CV is very hard but when when I was in

9:48 Ireland I think I have given an interview for Google I've given an interview for Facebook so you know it's easy to get interviews out there even with referrals in India because there are lots of people lots of competition lot of good hip quality applications as compared to you know Ireland or maybe London it's it's hard to get interviews in India those kind of like if you're fresher you want to do a job in a really good company and you want to get crack an interview I think getting an interview outside India is is easy but the process is almost the same it's not that like you there is only two steps and in India they take five or six round it's not like that it's same kind of process you give the same process and then you crack it and do your job but as a as a fresher things are difficult especially when you go as a student if you are well financ in like finances is really good in India your parents are funding you properly you don't need to you know you're not burdened about finances it's a it's easy like you know you can either do go do a parttime job and getting a parttime job is I not say difficult or it's hard it's like if you

10:49 Want to do a parttime you can get a part-time not easy but yeah it's like you will get it you don't need to do a lot of a struggle to get a parttime and again doing a part-time if it's a hectic part-time job like some kind of kitchen portter because I was doing a kitchen portter job that was hectic you know it's a physical kind of a job so when you do it and you are almost spending s to eight hours in a day doing your part-time job it's very tiring so at the end of the day if you have some personal things to do for example you want to complete your assignments or things it's very hard to do those things with that job and then again one year almost you pass you complete your Masters you want to apply for jobs I think it's easy to you know it's it's it's it's good that you leave your part-time job and focus on your full-time job because that will help anyway you need more time for Preparation all those things and then once you get that full-time job it is fine then the things are much smoother if you have financial crisis or you have Financial things to do in India

11:50 That's fine you can do if you have no you know you're not sending something money to India you want to spend everything on yourself you can roam around you know different European countries or anywhere in the world with that money differently

12:05 Yeah okay I think that's great so maybe switching to your move so I'm guessing that maybe you have chosen Pune because of your employment location or whatnot is that right or is it maybe are there any other reasons to choosing Pune versus any other city in India when moving back yeah that's correct actually you know when I was offered a job back back in India it was in pun location but I definitely like Pune because the weather is really good as compared to Northern cities in India the it's not that hot and and the air is good things are good in Pune it's not like and it's not like Bangalore is little crowded even Pune is crowded but again it's not almost the same weather is good then things are very developing in Pune so I think that is the thing that I chose here sure and then where does your family live like is it close by or yeah just curious on that because that's a common people who back to India about no actually my hometown is Pat Bihar so my my family my

13:16 It so I know you kind of touched a little bit about the opportunities at least on the Fang and some of these companies right between you know in abroad like European like Ireland and other places versus IND India maybe from your experience working you know for a couple of years in Ireland and you know here how is the opportunities for somebody who were thinking to move back or graduating or you know what not right I think the opportunities in terms of the jobs or career growth in the it especially who is in their early career side what's your take our our insights in terms of the opportunities there like you mean to say like fresher moving abroad they coming back to India so this is more of a career opportunities for a fresher in India versus a fresher in abroad right so whether it's an European or us in terms of career growth in terms of you know getting a job in a you know good company and so on I think you kind of a little bit touched but you work on

14:17 Both sides I just want to get your thoughts on that yeah I've not worked as a fresher in India so I just cannot comment a lot on that but what I see with my friend's experience or with you know with seeing the family and all if you are from a top tier College in India it's it's a smooth walk it's not that difficult the pay that you are joining for a first company is really good as compared to any tier three tier four tier five colleges in India but you are coming from those kind of colleges it's hard because the starting salaries are low I would say in 2024 30 to 30 40,000 doesn't make up even you're looking in you're living in Bangalore Pune or Hyderabad I think with that kind of salary it's very hard to to you know live if as a single maybe you can have to do a lot of compromises I I believe you know maybe you can save a little bit but again you just cannot blindly spend your money and do your saving do your you know invest the money in in you know sips all those things it's hard basically but when you are living abroad and you are a fresher and you get a job

15:18 With that I think they give you a good pay what good pay I mean is like obviously that that is not great in in their capital in their terms for example in land if you're a fure you can expect somewhere around in it from 35 to 40K Euros that is somewhere you can expect as a graduate program rule in in Ireland or in London with that kind of money i' would not say it's very great money out there especially where but obviously it's much more money as compared to India's 40K or 30k and with that kind of money if you're single you you're spending okay if it's living expens and maybe you can expense expend half of the money or maybe 60% of the money living out there but again that 40% that you saving is significant amount of savings for example when I got my job in Ireland and I was not sending money much to India I saved more than 20 25 lakhs in one and a half year you know and then again spending on good terms like I was renting in a good I was renting a good apartment I was eating properly as like spending money on re rejuvenating things

16:20 You know going out and all those things so it was not that I will have to think a lot while spending obviously if I'm doing a lot of you know what you call Royal activities or something which is out of my pocket obviously those kind of things obviously we have to mindful but normal day things it was really easy and then when I was saving it was a signant amount of savings as compared to India when working in India as a fresher but again but India as I said you earlier that it depends when you're graduating from Top tier one tier two it's it's a smooth walk you get really good pay okay in terms of the growth I mean like in the career opportunities like you know climbing up the ladder or the opportunities to work on some exciting project and so on again if you have experience or if you have some insights on that anything that you can share on that and yeah I think going up the ladder is different thing and I think that is somewhere I think outside India is better because climbing that ladder that ladder is is easy I not say that is very hard or it's like very smooth but it's comparatively

17:21 Easy than India because India you have much more many more people in the team then there is obviously competition internally so even if the person who is doing really good climbing up that hierarchy and then moving into a manager position all those things is is it will take definitely 5 to 10 years but there I think if even if you're a fresher and you do really good do really good do good in your job and it's a small team of three to four people you can definitely become a team leader or a manager in two to three years which is really great that in that kind of sense but again depends on exp like sector to sectors I'm just talking about it sector I'm not sure about you know the medical sector or any other sectors the the story is really different in those kind of sectors so I'm just conc that if the audiences are like who are watching in it it's is easy to walk the ladder but when you talk about projects and you know exposure it depends totally on the company you are joining it depend on what kind of team you are joining I would say that more of a development projects are in India based so you really want to learn you want to you

18:22 Know indulge yourself in a really good project you want to contribute and get that impact I think India is still better because in Ireland or London London the story is a little different but in Ireland most of the projects are support projects or you know there are development projects but when you compare directly with India it's not much they are they are really good companies but most of them are like doing support kind of jobs or even they are development jobs or software engineer jobs software development jobs the projects little bit outsourc like most of the teams are setting in the USA and India and then in the between Ireland because that comes in the mid time zone because of that you know some kind of collaborating collabora projects that they are doing as a software Engineers but again that depends if you working for like Google or Facebook or maybe like really good company like stripe and all and if you are in in a software development you can even contribute in a good project out there but when when compared with India the the I think good number of projects that you're going to develop is less definitely okay

19:24 Good maybe another question is is there anything that you miss living in Ireland or abroad and do you have any plans to you know move back to abroad you know for in the future when it comes to moving back definitely I'm not thinking for now maybe if I get an opportunity in us then I would definitely think but not at least in European country because the pay skill is not that great you know if you're like you're 10 15 years of experience and you are working there on that kind of a note then maybe 100 or 120 130k euros that you are getting that is good like if you're a couple you making somewhere around 250 240k or to more than 200k but as a fresher as 34 experience the the pay is not that great 50 60k is good enough for a single person but again it depends how you want to spend your money if you want to really live a lavish life with all those supports and all that we have in India it's just not possible but what I'm

20:24 Getting in India is actually I'm getting much more than what I was getting in irland at that point of time so for me like salary wise I really don't think that I want to move one thing that I miss definitely living abroad or in irland is obvious the traffic all those things those are really good people are disciplined they care about cleanliness they care about traffic rules they care about all those things so those kind of things are definitely miss in India and I really feel frustrated on on those things that people are not responsible enough and we are always keep like blaming government that they they are not doing things but but at the end of the day like it's each one of us our responsibilities that you know you have to take care of your surroundings you have to take care of your of the rules if you are not taking care like government cannot like spoon feed things so those kind of things when I compare I really feel frustrated in India but as compared to Ireland okay Mak sense cool is there anything that we haven't covered that you wanted to bring up u in your journey you know especially with the move I don't know if

21:24 It was like any quick move like anything from a logistic side that you want to bring up just wondering on that it was quick Mo I didn't have much you know stuff with me when I was in adland just clothes and a little bit of small things so for me it was a easy move but someone you know who has bought the house or who have car or many things it depends how they want to move they have to plan differently if they have a car they can sell it it takes a little bit of time they have a house they can rent it or they can resell it that again will take a time so if they are moving in one month which I did like I moved in just one month for me it was easy because I did not have much responsibilities or liabilities out there but people who have these kind of liabilities for them it will definitely take a lot of time maybe two three months to plan and then move back to India and Logistics wise again if you have lots of clothes obviously the airline will charge you a little bit more for those luggages and all okay

22:21 Cool any anything for the as especially people who went to Masters and who are thinking or you know looking for job opportunities abroad or here any other insights from your from your journey that you wanted to share with the audience today like if you are in it and if you're looking for soft development jobs I think if you're giving a job in job interviews in India obviously I said like the competition is a little tougher as compared to Ireland so maybe you get a much more better opportunities in Ireland or maybe other countries but again it depends like if you crack a good company in India and you are earning good then there's no need of going abroad and making a lot of changes because that will not help much financially at least maybe you just want to experience you know a broad culture lifestyle and all those things maybe that that would be good like people say a lot that you know we have better lifestyle we living really good which is true some kind of but I would not say like that definitely happens but after 6

23:23 To 8 years living in a country like if a if a fresher even have experienced who wants to go today and they're imagining Instagram reals life in just one or two months or in a year that's not possible at all like definitely when you have a job when you have a spouse with you both are earning both are saving better you can definitely buy a good house you can definitely buy a good car you know you have you you can have a better life and be good lifestyle but again that will take around 5 to seven years somewhere down the line many of my friends were there who were living from 10 12 years they were really doing great but initially they also struggled a couple of years two three years when they were they were students they got their job they did their parttime all those things so that that is not easy and when you know these These Days also like people share a lot of things on Instagram move here move there government is sponsoring this government is sponsoring that you're getting free Visa you're getting free sponsorship all those things I think those all things are fake we have to do a lot of due diligence we have to do a lot of research behind what things is correct or not and based on that kind of research we definitely need to try
