5:07 I'll say like Canada is is not a country for skilled jobs if you'll compare to us it is not a country for skill jobs like majorly you will get blue color jobs and that is the reason like anybody can go there right if you see the people in us and if you'll compare the people in Canada so you will find in Canada there are less skilled people like majorly they do go for like labor jobs you can say or blue color jobs and and and and this is what I told you like once I graduated my background was electronic so yes definitely opportunities were very less and in 2014 or 15 I think recession also came in Canada when we moved and due to due to which I think the market was not in a very good shape at that time got it so know like you have to survive you have to stay there because everything is so expensive so you you have to take whatever you get you have to join somewhere right so so that thing happened to me as well but I I would say like if I would have got a

6:10 Job in my field I would be more than happy but but that was not the case so I was working for some like a kitchen cabinet company or something like that a paint company so I was I was like what I'm doing no this is not what I want and this is not so this is not for what I have studied like I don't want to I I do not want to do this yeah for sure got it so I think it's the idea to return back because of the career opportunities and the bad weather you know kind of deis and I think it's a timing of getting settled you know that's when you just have to make a decision from a timing perspective so if you talk a little bit about the planning I think maybe on a career front did you start applying for some jobs while you're in Canada in India or like after you just you know I'm moving back and then after you came back to India that's when you started looking for opportunities here in India so so when I moved back so I do have

7:05 Some friends in India like they already have a startup so first I was thinking of joining them like in Bangalore but but like but in that like few months only like we I decided to have my own Venture for a time but unfortunately then this Co thing came in March I moved in like October or November of 2019 so I had like two or three months so we tried to set it up but unfortunately that didn't work out because of the co people were very reluctant to take things from us you know like sanitization issue and we were just in a startup early phase so yeah so and then I I I thought of coming back to Delhi and then I again went back to Bangalore to join a startup so I I after coming to India because I knew that like money is in it it sector over here like if you'll go to any other sector again it will be a struggle for you so what I did in the meantime is I started learning about some of the skills in it like doing some SPL courses

8:06 Or doing some product management courses and then I just wanted to enter into a any company where I can get some it it tag you know so I I joined a startup then in Bangalore only that was working in AR field augmented reality and artificial intelligence so that was I'll say like that was a very good learning opportunity for me because I always wanted to get into it sector because I know like if you you are in India if you're in it you can make hell lot of money after a few years got it so I'm assuming you currently live in Bangalore right now no no I'm in I'm in Delhi oh Delhi okay so you came back to Delhi again after that after Co I I moved to Delhi yeah got it okay cool so is there something that you miss from Canada after moving back to India I do miss I like in in the initial few

9:03 Months I will say that because it was hard to you know like it was it was hard to cope up with the same thing like you used to live when you were in India so like I was I was like in Canada like there is less pollution less traffic less people like less crowd wherever you go and everything was like very easy to get but when you come to India like has a is there right like it is not a very I'll say like you will not have a easy life in India like when you are moving from a different country where the population the or the population density is very low here you there are like lots of people in a small area but so so initial days it was a struggle for me I I'll not say that it was easy and I used to live in India so what changed in these five years but no when I moved from there in in the initial few months I'll say like four or five months it was a little challeng ing for me because from weatherwise as well and from the traffic

10:03 And those kind of things but eventually like I know that like anyway like I have to stay here now I don't want to be a somebody like who want to again go back and again want to settle down your life over there so yeah so I then it was completely fine for me but for for for for from Canada like what I miss the most is I'll say my friends like we had a very good friend Circle over there and yeah that time that time that part I definitely miss but eventually like after a few years they also move okay yeah got it so I know you've been working in India for last five years can you shed some insights in terms of the development or the work culture or the growth or the opportunities that are happening you know for somebody who is looking in a tech side right I mean I'm keeping Tech in general like not like an IT engineering or anything you know from your perspective anything that you can share on that because this is another thing that a common thing maybe people might have a misperception

11:19 Like to address is like some of the people like who work abroad or who who who are working abroad and now wanted to come back is that in India you have like lots of work pressure there are like there are always bosses who sit on the top of you and watching you this kind of thing but I'll suggest them like if they wanted to have a good work culture or work life balance they should join like the good companies the top top 10 companies they should Target in their field it it should not be like they are joining so many random random company and then they are complaining about it so I think a good market research on the companies or on the sectors like which they where they wanted to work that is very important and and and I I I'll tell you to be honest that like in my company like we have a very amazing work culture we do not have any stress at all and we do work like eight hours or 9 hours per day but that is also not stressful like you can skip your meetings if you are not feeling well and even on Fridays and

12:20 Mondays we try to have like minimum call so that you can relax on those days as well so Tuesday WN Thursdays are the only day we work a lot but yeah Monday and Friday we still try to keep like lesser calls so it is just a misconception in the people's mind that in India work culture is very bad this and this bosses are like this but it is not always but yeah but so they should do a proper thorough good research on the work life balance or the salary or whatever it is when they plan to move back to India or and and I also suggest them like if they are planning and if they have already made a mind that after six month I'm going to go back to India I think they can plan at that time as well because in my case it was a different case but I think people should plan when they move back to India where they are going to apply where they should Target they can start making LinkedIn connection that kind of thing yeah makes sense so can you share anything from like opportunities like especially in the startups or even in

13:20 The different sectors right I think in India in the last four five years if you have seen any changes in a positive way or a negative way no India has like compared to Canada India has been changed like very drastically like if you'll see like everything is on your fingertips nowadays you have each and every app for every task so you don't have to go anywhere you can sit and relax at home and you can get everything at home in 10 minutes or 15 minutes in terms of grocery in terms of uber Rolla or like whatever it is in terms of cleaning in terms of getting house house Heth so you have everything like but the only condition is you should be well settled here like after coming here you should earn well or you should have a good saving from Canada so you cannot make a random decision of coming back but you should have plans so that that should be the first priority for them as well but yeah in terms of digitalization I will say like India has topped in in

15:05 Haven't covered yeah so for for for me like I will always say them that like do not think grass is always greener on the other side so until unless you will go there and feel it you cannot imagine what you're going to see or what you're going to face right so what in India like what people thought that like if if if I'm in Canada and if I'm telling them don't come here there is nothing special but they don't believe in it you know like they're like no no no you are sitting over there and you are not allowing us to come over there right so I was like no you should you should listen to those people like who are there who are struggling over there and and who wanted to come back so you should genuinely take their feedback why they are coming back what is the reason and people do come back so if there is somebody like who is in dilemma like I'll be treated as a failure guy like if I'll move back to India no there are many who moved back I'll say like in

16:06 My circle only I have I know like 15 to 20 people like who are already in India and they are doing equally well yeah so so just just plan out things and move back and one more thing if you are well settled in India don't go if you are earning well don't go don't go at all you will regret after a few years when you'll be struggling over there yeah that's true I mean I think you know moving back to India is not a failure it's a choice somebody could make right I think it's not like you know they couldn't have the opportunities and whatnot and things have changed or you know there's a lot of development happening but but in our Indian Minds it is a perception yes so if he he has came back then definitely he didn't get a job or he might be struggling over there or because nobody nobody nobody came back in this right and they found like okay only one or two people is are coming back yeah they like oh he must have done this this this that kind of thing yeah for sure cool I

17:22 Reasons could be different but is there a general Trend that you can talk on behalf of your group of friends you know the reason why they moved back from Canada so so what I feel is that like might be lack of proper skilled job opportunities that is the one because I moved in like 2019 and mostly people were from my B 2017 or 18 so one is the lack of skilled jobs to be honest so if you are if you have not studied like from a good University in India it is very hard to find a job right but in Canada the situation is totally different even if you are from a top university over there univ of tono University of British Colombia you will still struggle for finding a job so skill jobs are very less spec specifically in non it domain in it I'll say like still the opportunities are better but if you are from a non IT background then it is a it is a huge task and then you keep ending doing

19:42 Talk to them and they told them to move back to India that if you'll be here you'll buy a house you'll get married and then you'll get stuck you'll be keep paying mortgage for like till till you get 50 or 55 and your parents will be getting old they need your attention and if yeah so like yeah so so this is one of the thing like I want to say and one more thing is that like I will say like if you are a family oriented person either you take your parat so there or you should come back don't let them to die don't let them die over here if you cannot take them come back because I have seen people like they just post a photo like once they die they just post support on Facebook or Instagram oh r i with this I'll miss with this and this no don't do this if you are a really family oriented guy then or a girl then you should come take take care of your parents or here or
