1:00 Several curriculums to choose from in this video I will focus on three popular education boards first cbsc IB and IGCSE which is also called Cambridge before talking about the differences between these boards I want to explain the core concept of each board using an example let's use an an example of bicycle in cbsc it's about learning the theory the cbsc student will read about how bicycle would work in the textbook they will memorize definitions of gares pedals and friction so they are evaluated with questions like define friction and explain its role in cycling how do you calculate speed and so on so this is best suited for students who
2:02 Like structured learning and want to prepare for competitive examinations now let's look at it from a ib curriculum perspective which is more research and experiment focused an IB student will ask questions and explore how does changing gears make cycling easier how do bicycles reduce pollution so it's some of these inquiry questions that they would be asking they also test for example different tire sizes or surfaces and see the impact on how well it grips which one would grip better based on the surface so instead of exam they will be writing a research project so this is best for students who wants to develop critical thinking skills independent research abilities and real world problem solving experience so this is more focused on deep research critical
3:02 Thinking now let's look at igcc which is Cambridge which is more handson and practical so an igcs student will apply what they learn so they might be building a small bicycle model or study real bicycles instead of memorizing they will analyze how a bound mountain bike having more Gars than a road bike might be beneficial they are learning through a Project based and the learning is all flexible so the outcome the students understands the concept in a Hands-On way and learns how to apply the knowledge in real world situations so in general cbsc is much more focused on the core subjects and much more deep into it so you have a strong Foundation strong understanding whereas with IB and igcc it's more wide

4:05 And less depth so you're looking at from different perspectives and it doesn't go as deep as as cbsc so that's another subtle difference between these two boards now let's look at these boards from different categories okay first overview in general CBS is nationally recognized structure it has a national curriculum in the case of an IB it's a globally recognized curriculum and it's started in Switzerland it's focused on inquiry based and research based whereas igcc it is also a globally recognized and it's originated from UK and the focus there is Project based application flexibility now let's look at the number of schools in India for each of these curriculums
5:05 In cvsc that's the most widely available schools across India so you will find these schools tier 2 tier three cities also so you have more than 20,000 plus schools available in India for cbsc for IB it's very very few we are looking around approximately 200 schools that are avail ailable in India for igcc it's around 400 so this is more mostly available in big Metro areas now let's look at the focus subjects in case of cbsc it's very much heavily focused on math and science whereas with IB it's more inquiry based critical thinking and as far as the igcs is concerned it's the analytical skills application flexibility with the subjects the other important subject for
6:06 A lot of families have concern is about the language in cbsc in certain schools you have English and the second language could be either Hindi Regional or foreign language some schools in cbsc offer foreign language like French Spanish so there is a wrong notion that if you're not comfortable with native language which you might not go into cbsc but there are some schools that offer foreign land option keep in mind I think there is some proposal and discussion to have three languages but as of now it's two mandatory languages for class 10 in IB and in IG CSC it's English and the second language can be a foreign language or a regional language now let's look at the learning style in case of cbsc it's very structured memory based but very in depth in IB inquiry based lot of research experimenting and in the case of
7:08 Cambridge igcc application based and analytical thought process now let's look at the fees which is a big factor in cbsc the fee can vary anywhere from 30,000 to 3 lakhs again depending on where the school is the school's infrastructure and so on but that's a range and in case of IB you're looking anywhere from 3 lakhs to 8 lakhs perom per kid and that's a range and in case of igcc it's anywhere from 2 and a half lakhs to six lakhs there's also like a common question among nris does oci students students who does not have an Indian citizenship who has a foreign citizenship do they pay extra fee for school for regular schooling there is no difference in terms of the fees that you pay for a regular Indian citizen or a
8:09 WCI student however higher for higher education like you know when they go for Bachelors for mbbs there is a higher fee for nris or OCA card holders and it varies from college to college in terms of how much the fees are higher that's you need to evaluate so if we summarize in terms of what these curriculums are designed or who it suits well so if someone is planning to aim for competitive exams like IIT neat cbsc is the best choice if someone wants to study abroad for their undergraduate program then IB or igcc would be a better choice so this is a different differences between the these boards across multiple categories this is on paper at the end it's the teachers their knowledge their experience plays a big role especially
9:11 In IB because there is no fixed structured curriculum it's based on the teachers experience on how they would be training the students so that is a very important factor that you need to consider when evaluating schools or deciding on the curriculum also so now let's look at maybe the admission
